This Omega Seamaster Diver 300M was created to celebrate the 50th anniversary of On Her Majesty’s Secret Service. Limited to just 7,007 pieces, it is one of the more interesting James Bond editions Omega has produced. It also happens to be a very wearable Seamaster in its own right.
The 42mm stainless steel case houses a black ceramic dial with a subtle laser-engraved gun barrel design. At first glance it looks like a particularly handsome black Seamaster. Look closer, though, and the Bond details start to reveal themselves. The 12 o’clock marker carries the Bond family coat of arms, while the number 7 on the date wheel uses the familiar 007 font.
There is another lovely detail that only appears in the dark. The number 50 is hidden within the luminous 10 o’clock marker, marking the film’s 50th anniversary. An 18ct yellow gold plaque on the side of the case carries the individual limited-edition number, giving each watch its own place within the 7,007-piece production.
Inside, the watch is powered by Omega’s Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 8800. It offers around 55 hours of power reserve and is resistant to magnetic fields up to 15,000 gauss. More importantly for everyday use, the Seamaster retains the 300 metres of water resistance that has made the Diver 300M such a dependable sports watch.
The watch is supplied on its black rubber strap and comes with the additional stainless steel bracelet, along with its special 007 presentation box and accessories. This gives the next owner the choice of a sportier look on rubber or the more traditional Seamaster feel on steel.
